I wanted to let everyone know why we had to cancel and reschedule some shows in the coming months. I had some much needed medical procedures done last week that will help me stay healthy and strong. It all went very well and I’m recovering nicely. I will be ready to rock January 1, 2019! Wishing everyone best wishes and happy holidays. – Kim

Festival Recap Video

We had a blast at the 30th Annual Peoria Blues & Heritage Music Festival! Take a look back at the official recap video (we think you will like the song the use for it) and thanks for celebrating with us!

How It Started

When I was a senior in high school, I was a football player, but I realized that I wasn’t going to be able to play football the rest of my life.

At the same time I was getting into all this great blues music. A friend of mine was playing a harmonica. I picked it up and I was in a band immediately. I was in a band three months after I started playing.

A year later, I was playing with all the great old guys. It was crazy. Eddie Taylor, Albert Collins, Pee Wee Crayton, George “Harmonica” Smith, John Lee Hooker even back then a little bit. – Kim

Covering A Lot Of Bases

With the Thunderbirds, everybody in that band has to cover a lot of bases musically. They’ve got to be able to play rock and roll. They’ve got to be able to play R&B and soul. They’ve got to be able to play blues. And they have to be able to do it in their own voice. With the Thunderbirds there is so much different Americana going on and maybe a lot of blending of different music, as in Blues and R&B. – Kim
